History of Teba: A Journey Through Time
In the vicinity of present-day Teba, prehistoric remains were found in the Cueva de Palomares and El Pilarejo, indicating the existence of settlements during that era. However, its major development occurred with the arrival of the Romans, who named it the ancient Attegua.
Over time, the area expanded to populate the current Teba region, and it was renamed Itaba. Centuries later, the Arabs conquered the land and built significant monuments such as the Castle of La Estrella and various watchtowers due to the attacks and insecurity of the time.

How to Get There by Bus
To reach Teba by bus from the Málaga Bus Station, you can take the Málaga-Olvera bus line and get off at the Teba stop. The company Alsa offers this service for around 12 euros, and it takes almost 3 hours to get there.
How to Get There by Car
If you prefer to arrive by car from Málaga Airport, you can take A-357 from Málaga towards Campillos and then take the A-7278 exit towards Teba/Ronda, and then follow the signs to Teba. The journey takes approximately 1 hour, depending on traffic.
When visiting Teba, having a car can be beneficial to explore the area and have more flexibility in your travels. Hiring a car at Málaga Airport is a convenient option and will allow you to make the most of your visit to Teba and its neighboring towns like Ardales, Valle de Abdalajís, or Alameda.
