During the Roman period, Rincón de la Victoria was an important center for the production of salted fish and preserves, thanks to its natural harbor and rich fishing grounds. On a hill in a nearby neighborhood of the current town, a settlement known as Bezmiliana was established, of which some structures such as baths and a villa with several mosaics are preserved.

Later, during the Muslim period, the town became an important agricultural and commercial center, with significant textile and shipbuilding activity. It was during this period that it reached its peak splendor, as evidenced by the town’s architectural remains.
