Puerto Banús Market
It’s obvious that when thinking about this small area of the municipality of Marbella, the first thing that comes to mind is where to find the party in Puerto Banús.
And it’s understandable, because Puerto Banús is known for its bustling and luxurious nightlife. But that’s not nearly all it has to offer to enchant us.
One of the charms of Puerto Banús is its markets, which capture the daytime attention of many tourists passing through, as well as numerous locals who visit weekly.
Antonio Banderas Square Market | Puerto Banús International Handicrafts Show
In the main square of the area, called Antonio Banderas Square, more than 100 stalls offering crafts and souvenirs from your visit are set up throughout the summer.
This square may be one of the busiest epicenters of leisure in the area, making it a great place to enjoy tapas in Puerto Banús. But before diving into the local gastronomy, let’s stroll through one of the most important markets on the Costa del Sol.
Every summer, and for more than 15 years, Antonio Banderas Square comes to life with stalls loaded with handmade crafts; from bags to ceramics. Decorations, souvenirs of all kinds, and gifts to remember your days in Marbella.
This market only takes place during the summer months, and you can visit it every day. If you drive there, the best option is to park in one of the public parking lots throughout the area.
Once you’ve done your shopping and strolled among the wooden stalls in the square, let yourself be carried away by the leisure options in the area; shops, cinema, and some of the best places to eat in Puerto Banús.
Puerto Banús Market | Puerto Banús Antiques Market
This market is everything a treasure hunter and antique lover could imagine. And to make it even more interesting, we could even say that it is three markets combined into one.
The heart of this more than 30-year-old market is located in the Plaza de Toros. Between this and Avenida Pilar Calvo, we can map out the first of the markets. The second can be limited between the Plaza de Toros and the Centro Plaza Shopping Center. And the third emerges between the corridors and common areas of the aforementioned Centro Plaza Shopping Center.
Stroll through this modern souk with the sole intention of getting lost and discovering a treasure you never imagined finding.
With so many corners to explore, the offerings are as wide as your imagination. Decorative items such as lamps, crafts like baskets and rugs, collectibles like paintings and antiques, second-hand clothing, ceramics, and even golf clubs.
It’s a great idea to end your walk through the market at Avenida Pilar Calvo, because this way you’ll be just a few steps away from the most beautiful beaches in Puerto Banús. A fantastic plan to end a morning at the market.
Markets around Puerto Banús
Despite its small size, the Puerto Banús area offers two of the best markets on the Costa del Sol. Even so, we want to give a brief overview of other fantastic markets you can visit, very close to both Puerto Banús and Marbella.
Marbella Marina Craft Market
You have an appointment every Sunday from 12 noon to 6 pm at the Marbella Marina if you love craft markets.
The place is fantastic, with stalls on the front line of the port, where crafts take many forms, and despite its small space, it offers a great variety of products.
San Pedro de Alcántara Market
Just ten minutes away, we reach San Pedro de Alcántara. No matter the time of year, this bustling and lively market takes place every Thursday in the upper part of the town; on Avenida Jorge Guillen.
This market has everything for everyone; from fresh fruit and vegetables to second-hand clothing and accessories. It is certainly a great option for market lovers, as it offers a wide variety of products.
But if you want variety, on your way back, don’t miss the opportunity to stop by some of the most popular and diverse restaurants in Puerto Banús.
Organic Markets
Now that we’ve mentioned fresh fruit and vegetables, it’s a good time to talk about the organic market that takes place just over 4 kilometers from Puerto Banús.
The third Saturday of every month, the organic market is held in the La Campana area, specifically on Calle Sirio. The stalls offer only fresh, top-quality products brought by local producers and farmers. A great opportunity to enjoy the wonders provided by the land in the heart of the Costa del Sol.
You have a second option when it comes to organic markets in Elviria, called the Mercadillo de la Asociación Guadalhorce Ecológico.
It takes place on the first Saturday of every month, and as in La Campana, local farmers organized by the association gather here. This ensures that all products are grown in the province of Málaga.
Marbella Market
The municipality of Marbella couldn’t be left out of our list of the best markets near Puerto Banús. The “Baratillo,” as it’s known, takes place every Monday from 9 am to 2 pm, regardless of the season.
Stop by the Las Albarizas fairground to walk among stalls offering costume jewelry, fashion accessories such as bags, clothing and footwear, fruit, vegetables, and even cosmetics.
El Patio Flea Market
We end our market roundup with one that makes it clear that a flea market or bazaar doesn’t have to rival the concept of sophistication or even luxury.
The example is the El Patio flea market, a bazaar held on the Golden Mile with about 18 stalls featuring very unique and historical items; from antiques to collectibles. All in the Bulevar Príncipe Alfonso von Hohenlohe, with one of the best atmospheres among the coastal markets.
