Mandatory deposit

At CarGest we request a deposit for any type of vehicle and rate. In this way we ensure that we can cover negligence caused to vehicles by clients, such as the loss of car keys, filling the petrol tank of a diesel vehicle or vice versa and other similar circumstances such as racing cars and returning the vehicle in a deplorable state. The following table shows the amount of deposit to be paid for each group of vehicles.

This deposit amount is a bank pre-authorisation, i.e. a “charge pending confirmation” that is made on the customer’s card to ensure that the card is valid and has a sufficient balance. The bank is responsible for unblocking the deposit back into your account, which can take up to 30 days.

If the Premium rate is contracted, the pre-authorisation of the deposit is made only once, regardless of the number of days the vehicle is rented, whereas if the Basic rate is contracted, the pre-authorisation of the deposit must be renewed every 30 days if the vehicle is rented for more than one month.

Vehicle damage costs without excess

Below is a table showing the costs (including VAT) associated with repairs for the Basic tariff, as these costs are exempt in the Premium tariff, except for negligence on the part of the customer.
