Casabermeja is a village in the province of Málaga, in the de la autonomous community of Andalusia. Situated in the Montes de Málaga (Málaga mountains), the rivers Guadalmedina and Cauche cross its ground. You find interesting natural areas, such as the Natural Park Montes de Málaga, el Jaral, Camino de las Fuentes (the way of the sources), Boca Negra ("black mouth") and the environment, de las Peñas de Cabrera. It is in the interior of the province and about 20 km away from Malaga.
The first evidence of settlements date from prehistoric times and show human presence in different deposits (workshops with stone tools and raw materials), as well as shelters in caves and caverns, where various utensils used were found, like decorated ceramics, cave paintings and grave vessels (graves with stone slabs). The further settlement in the Iberian period is proved by the remains (pottery), found in the old town (casco urbano) and its area. Later, under Muslim occupation, the place was called "Qasr Bunayra" and in this time it was of great importance, given by its strategic position.
